An Empowering Evening on Wall Street: Our Commitment to Women in Finance
On November 21st, 2024, Siebert Financial, in partnership with the Downtown Alliance New York, hosted an inspiring event at the historic Downtown Association—just steps away from Wall Street. The setting was a fitting backdrop: a prestigious men’s club with a rich history, providing an ironic contrast to the conversation that unfolded about women’s trailblazing journeys in finance.
The event brought together some of the most pioneering women in the industry to discuss the past, present, and future of women on Wall Street. From Muriel Siebert’s groundbreaking achievement as the first female member of the New York Stock Exchange to today’s ongoing efforts for equality, the evening honored the trailblazers who broke down barriers and continue to pave the way for future generations of women in finance.
Our distinguished panel included Paulina Bren, author of She-Wolves: The Untold History of Women on Wall Street, along with Jolyne Caruso-FitzGerald, Lillian Lambert, Doreen Mogavero, and was moderated by Raakhee Miller, Siebert's President of Technology. These powerful women shared their personal stories of overcoming challenges, breaking the glass ceiling, and driving change in an industry long dominated by men. Their candid insights served as a reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and the importance of perseverance and resilience.
At Siebert Financial, empowering women in finance has been at the heart of our mission since day one. Muriel Siebert’s pioneering spirit, which shattered financial barriers for women, remains a cornerstone of our company’s values. It is this legacy that continues to fuel our commitment to not only promoting financial literacy but also advancing gender equality in the world of finance.
As we look forward, we’re more determined than ever to build a more inclusive future where women’s voices are heard, their contributions recognized, and their success celebrated. We are incredibly grateful to our panelists, our partners, and all who attended for making this event such a success—and for helping us push the boundaries of what’s possible in finance.
Here’s to continuing Muriel Siebert’s legacy and empowering the next generation of women in finance. Together, we’re building a brighter, more inclusive future.
