Siebert Proudly Sponsored Women in Command, Celebrating 50 Years of Women at the Service Academies

Siebert was honored to participate in Women in Command, part of the Annual Army-Navy Alumni Fundraising Luncheon, as a Distinguished Services Sponsor at Palm Beach Country Club. The event celebrated a powerful milestone, 50 years of women at the Service Academies, and brought together leaders committed to service, opportunity, and community.

At Siebert, moments like this are more than calendar events. They are a reflection of who we are.

Our commitment to empowering women is deeply rooted in the very foundation of our firm and the legacy of our namesake, Muriel Siebert, a trailblazer who opened doors for generations to come, becoming the first woman to be a member of the New York Stock Exchange. Her application was rejected nine times before she was ultimately sponsored by two individuals. She joined the exchange as one of 1,365 members, all of whom were men.
Muriel’s story is one of persistence, courage, and conviction. She proved that barriers can be broken and that progress follows when someone refuses to accept “no” as the final answer. That spirit continues to guide our work today, especially when it comes to expanding access, supporting leadership, and helping more women and families build financial confidence.

Women in Command highlighted the leadership and contributions of women in uniform and the importance of ensuring they have the support, recognition, and resources they deserve.

During the program, Kaj Larsen, retired Navy SEAL and Siebert’s Head of Communications & Military Investment, shared remarks on leadership, service, and the importance of financial empowerment for the military community. We are proud to stand alongside the service members, veterans, and military families who sacrifice so much, and to support initiatives that uplift their futures.

Financial empowerment is a form of readiness. It supports stability at home, helps families plan through transitions, and creates options after service. We believe access to education, advice, and opportunities can be life changing, and we are committed to being part of that solution.

Siebert’s mission has always been tied to expanding access and opportunity. Over the years, we have continued to grow and evolve while staying grounded in the values that shaped our earliest days.

Today, our leadership includes voices and perspectives that strengthen our ability to serve clients and communities. Gloria E. Gebbia, Board Member and Majority Shareholder, has been part of Siebert’s continued growth and forward momentum. We are also proud to benefit from the guidance of leaders like Gen. Laura J. Richardson, a member of the Siebert Advisory Board, whose career exemplifies service, leadership, and excellence.

Sponsoring Women in Command is one way we put our values into action. It reflects a commitment to elevating women’s leadership, supporting the military community, with a focus on long-term financial wellbeing, and advancing financial empowerment.

We are grateful to the organizers, speakers, and attendees who made Women in Command such a meaningful celebration of service and progress. Most importantly, we are grateful to those who serve and to the women who continue to lead with strength, purpose, and integrity.

Empowering women is not a campaign for Siebert. It is part of our origin story, and it remains central to our future.
