Stocks were trounced yesterday as traders unloaded stocks in response to a hotter-than-expected inflation figure. Fed minutes suggest that all members are in agreement that rates needed to be cut this year – just how much and when is still a big mystery.

Stocks rallied on Friday as investors decided that a good economy is good for… everyone. Payrolls topped analyst expectations and the unemployment rate dipped.

Stocks got hammered yesterday late in the session, shredding earlier gains, teamed up on by Fed talk and middle east tough talk. Traders were on edge looking for excuses to unload stocks ahead of today’s big employment number.

Stocks gained yesterday, helped along by market-friendly comments by Fed Chair Jay Powell. ISM Services Index unexpectedly slipped in March with its Prices Paid sub-index posting a notable decline.

Stocks had a rough session, giving up ground as investors ponder the next big driver of the next big move. There are still plenty of job openings according to the latest numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
